Music for Natural Healing

Testimonials

“I cried…I closed my eyes and let the music take me away. Thank you so much for writing music that heals us, and transports us.”

A. Miller, East Tennessee

“When I first heard Jim Chappell’s music, my life was never the same again. His music has the literal power to grasp our soul, heal interrupted places in our hearts, and cement serene thoughts. You will enter into a territory of greater tenderness and understanding.”

C. Padua, Los Angeles, CA

“…I just wanted to tell you that this is so beautiful. It puts a lump in my throat. I don’t know why, but it brings so much emotion that I want to cry even though I’m not sad.”

P. Benitez, San Diego, CA

“I have been meaning to send you this for some time now. I want to say that I sincerely appreciate your music. It has comforted me tremendously in times of need- from the simplest situation of helping me get through bumper to bumper traffic, to one of the greatest sorrows of my life; the loss of my lifelong mate.
“After my spouse died I felt the need to grieve, cry, and generally just let myself feel the loss. The songs ‘Gone’ and ‘Embrace of a Lifetime’ helped me through my tears and helped to bring on true healing. Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to experience all of the necessary feelings and travel from grief to healing.”

ML David, Osprey, FL

“I periodically rediscover the healing effects of music when grieving a loss. I experimented with varieties of music styles in efforts to settle myself after a divorce in 1977. I progressed from pop vocals to instrumental jazz and eventually to contemplative music. With the latter I could best tolerate being still. Mood music set the occasion for me to accept what I was feeling and to tolerate being alone. I’ve heard that music is healing because it provides an escape, but that is not what I believe. Music heals, I believe, because it has the power to hold us in place right where we are. It can help us sit with necessary losses while soothing our emotions naturally without having to escape.
When my psychotherapy clients learn strategies to accept their feelings and sit quietly with them, they often describe the experience as coming home. Instead of checking out we check in. We begin to discard our fear of what is inside us, and then we have an opportunity to know ourselves more fully. Jim Chappell’s melodies have always had that effect on me.

I invite you to listen to his collection of contemplative melodies that have the healing power to touch the sad places within you. His melodies provide a gentle way to be peacefully and compassionately with your true nature. Herein lies a simple way to begin healing your emotional pain. It is far healthier than avoiding your self. ”
