Check out my latest project.. All of the pieces are very relaxing,
soothing, and calming. I pulled some tracks from other albums
of mine, and also wrote some great new music just for this CD.

Gone - I wrote this piece right after a young kitten we had taken in and soon became very attached to was diagnosed with feline leukemia. We found out she needed to be put to sleep and took her to the veterinarian in tears, then carried her home and made a little grave for her in the front yard. This melody came to me the following day; it’s meant for anyone who has lost someone or something important in their lives.

Reaching - This emotional piece is about wishing you could bring a loved one back that you know you’ll never be able to be with in the same way again; as if you are reaching out for them and calling their name, even though you know things are the way they have to be now and you must go on alone.

Alone - This is a re-recording of one of my favorite pieces on the album Nightsongs and Lullabies I did in the early 90’s. It’s a pensive mood, but also a very beautiful and personal one to me.

Why? - This song is about how the things others do or say to us can definitely hurt, and in the process make us quite upset also. It’s about being okay with feeling angry, and acknowledging that when we respect others we deserve to be treated respectfully by them also.

With Broken Heart - I’m trying here to put into music the story of how I discovered my younger brother after he had fallen off of a cement wall at age two and suffered a severe head injury. His recovery was slow and his life was never the same again; or mine since having been such a big part of how the event unfolded.

Street Story - This piece attempts to capture the endless stream of homeless people in the world today; almost as if we are driving by in slow motion viewing them as we pass…

Out Towards the Islands - This song was originally released on the album Acadia. The music and arrangement using a small choir came to me while hiking alone on the rocky coast of Maine; I was staring out at some lonely looking islands over the grey sea. I tried to capture the distant, melancholy, yet beautiful mood it evoked in me.

Almost There - This is the music I wanted for the final track on the CD. It’s about the healing process and resolution; about being nearly through the tears and close to being at peace with the challenge of getting through a very trying time.

I have been such a huge fan since your very first album. You and I have come a long way…..all across America together….and you only keep getting better. But then…..so do I.

This will be perfect for me. In the past 5 years, I lost my Mom to cancer, I was laid off from a high-paying job, I lost my Aunt to ALS, I lost my oldest sister to an accidental overdose of prescription medication, and my husband of 10 1/2 years left me and divorced me. Thank you for helping me heal! I have been a huge fan for years and have seen you in concert twice in Indianapolis, IN.

Your music makes bad moments better, rich moments richer. Thank you beyond words, beyond expression.

I have been a fan for many many years and still cherish the time you came to Scullers in Boston and then having dinner with you and your band in Providence the following night before your show. Your email about your latest CD arrived just 4 days after I had to put down my best friend, my greyhound Mo. We had 6 wonderful years together and then he was taken from me by cancer. I loved him with all my heart and am devastated I will never hold him again. Thank you for your beautiful music.

Thank you so much Jim…you really inspire me to play and improvise contemporary new age music on my classical guitar. I hope to be like you someday. Someone who really understands the power and change good music can make to a person’s life.

While I am still enjoying Honey Wind (which I have to ask a friend to buy me one from the US), I’m glad that you have new release, a mix of classics and classics in the making. Looking forward for your new CD to arrive in Philippine shores. Another set of music that are sure be part of the soundtrack of our lives. Congratulations! More power to you!
