About
I became very interested in creating a CD series built around the value that healing through music has regarding our emotional health when I revisited how many of my own songs have that effect on people. People from around the world have talked to me about their genuine feelings of sadness and loneliness, and how certain comforting songs of mine they owned were very important to them by helping them get through their crisis. Listening to particularly healing pieces I had written allowed them to process their feelings in a very natural way; they were able to not feel so lonely or hurt, and could move on again with their lives.
After years of hearing these comments, I realized I wanted to focus my composing and recording on pieces that speak to this comfort that was being created. I wanted to be exclusively involved with songs that address a certain ache we all have inside. Many times it’s that ache which needs to be honored in order for us to take the next step in our lives.
The idea of being able to help people when they need it most feels very right to me. That is what the new Comfort Songs CD series is all about.
